Project Engineer - Central Region

We currently have a vacancy for a Project Engineer. Ideally we are looking for someone with intermediate to senior level experience. The position reports to the Central Regional Manager and is based in Wellington. However, the projects worked on will generally take place in the lower north island south of a line between Gisborne and New Plymouth.

This role has a huge amount of variety involving investigation, planning, project justification, coordinating designs; supervising projects in the field and assisting create new business processes.

The types of projects will include:new rail sidings and deviations; drainage and land stabilisation works; projects to improve track condition on key routes; and assisting recovery from incidents.

The person we are looking for must have the ability to relate well to a range of field staff, engineers, managers and rail customers.

To be successful in this role you will ideally have:
• A tertiary qualification in Engineering and general design experience
• Experience working in an operational environment preferably in the transport industry
• Proven experience in Project Management to plan and deliver results
• Excellent analysis and investigation skills
• A focus on quality and cost control
• Strong organisational, interpersonal and influencing skills
• The ability to prioritise deadlines and work autonomously.
• A passion for Health & Safety at work
• Excellent problem solving skills
• A pragmatic and results focused approach with a ‘can do’ attitude

Experienced  Contracts Supervisor wanting to step up and/or a seasoned  Manager/Administration Professional to manage a team of approx 10 service technicians.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for leading & managing the contracts on behalf of the stakeholder and you will see that the terms are adhered to by all parties – users, suppliers etc.

Leading a team of technical personnel, engaged in the installation, repair and maintenance of building services & systems including HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be able to demonstrate at least the following knowledge, skills and experience

  • A high level of computer literacy (word/excel)
  • Strong team leadership and motivation skills
